I grew up in Mount Vernon, New York where I went through the public schools and graduated with the Class of 1951. Then, on to Cornell University where, in the College of Art and Architecture, I took many Art and Sculpture courses. After two years I realized that architecture was not for me and I transferred to liberal arts and graduated with an A. B. degree in 1956. Next, I attended Columbia University and earned a D.D.S. degree in 1960 followed by two years in the U.S.Army Dental Corps and Dental Practice in Chappaqua, New York until 2001. I then moved to Somers, N.Y. where I re-began to pursue my love for stone sculpture. My studio is located in the Art Barn Studio/Gallery at 366 Route 202 in Somers where I also show my work and that of other artists working in all media. I am a graduate of the Southwest Stone Carving workshop in New Mexico where I worked with Rolle Grandbois, Carl Berney, Ted Fleming, Cliff Fragua and others. I am a member of the Katonah Museum Artists Association and the Heritage Sculpture Program with Debra Schaffer and Ron Mineo. My sculpture Dolphins won the first prize blue ribbon in the 2008-9 Women's Club of Westchester Beaux Arts Show In Pleasantville, New York. Thirteen of my sculptures were on display in the Gallery of the Schoolhouse Theater in Croton Falls, N.Y. during March and April 2009. My work is presented in various art shows all over Westchester County, New York In May 2009 another of my sculptures Swirl won a blue ribbon at the Katonah, New York library.
